Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a doctor's referral to get a scan?
No. You can schedule directly with Visionary Wellness & Imaging. Many patients come to us on their own to be proactive about their health, while others are referred by a physician. Either way, you control the decision to get scanned.
Do you accept insurance?
We don’t bill insurance. Visionary Wellness & Imaging operates on a transparent, cash-pay model, so you know the exact cost before you book. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, debit, cash, HSA, FSA, Care Credit, and Afterpay.
How much does a scan cost?
Who reads my results, and how soon will I get them?
Every scan is reviewed by a board-certified radiologist who specializes in preventative imaging, so you’re getting a professional read of what your images show, not just the images themselves. It varies by scan but most CT scans and results will be received within 2-3 business days.
Will I feel anything during the scan?
No. Our scans are noninvasive. You’ll lie comfortably on an open-design CT table while the scan is taken. There are no needles, no sedation, and no discomfort involved in most of our scans.
Is a CT scan safe?
Yes! Our CT scans use low-dose imaging technology, designed to limit radiation exposure while still producing a clear, detailed picture. Low-dose CT protocols like ours typically expose patients to a small fraction of the radiation used in a standard-dose CT scan.
I feel fine. Do I still need a preventative scan?
That’s exactly who preventative imaging is for. Conditions like coronary artery disease and certain cancers often develop silently, with no symptoms until they’ve progressed. A preventative scan looks for what you can’t feel, and about half of the screening results we’ve reviewed have included a finding worth a closer look, which means a clear result is meaningful information either way.
What's the difference between your scans and a regular checkup?
An annual physical typically checks vital signs, bloodwork, and a general exam. Our scans use CT or ultrasound imaging to look directly at your heart, lungs, colon, or other targeted areas, which can surface findings that bloodwork and a stethoscope can’t.
What if my scan doesn't find anything?
A clear scan is good news, and it still gives you a useful baseline for future screenings. About half of the screening results we’ve reviewed have included a finding worth a closer look, which means a clear result is meaningful information either way.
