Ray Romano at risk for ‘widowmaker’ heart attack before undergoing procedure
Famed actor and comedian Ray Romano recently shared that he underwent surgery for a stent after he was found to have 90% blockage in the left anterior descending (LAD) artery, also known as the “widowmaker”. Romano underwent the procedure after nearly 20 years of working to manage his cholesterol levels.
Romano shared about his procedure and struggle with cholesterol during an interview on Marc Maron’s podcast. The article reads “Romano said his doctor would tell him that even though he did have high cholesterol, it didn’t necessarily mean that he was “in danger,” especially because everything else “checked out” and he was otherwise healthy.”
