Congressman Kildee’s Diagnosis from a Preventative Scan
Congressman Dan Kildee announced on Friday (March 31, 2023) that he has received a ‘serious, but curable’ cancer diagnosis. During a preventative scan of his lymph nodes, Kildee was found to have early squamous cell carcinoma on his tonsil.
“After additional testing, I’ve been diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma, a serious but curable form of cancer,” wrote Kildee. “Thankfully, I caught it very early. With early detection and great doctors, they found a very small tumor in one of my tonsils.”
With a successful surgery, Kildee’s doctors expect an excellent prognosis, and after a few weeks of recovery, he will be eager for a return to serving his constituents.
I wanted to give my constituents a quick update on my health.
A few weeks ago, after consulting with my doctors, I scheduled what I thought was a preventive scan for a swollen lymph node. The results, it turns out, were more significant.
